change of management.
Øystein Kvåle has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer with effect from 1
March 2023. Kvåle has served in GC Rieber Shipping’s management team since 2018
as CFO and has been with GC Rieber AS since 2014. Kvåle worked for The Boston
Consulting Group before joining GC Rieber. Kvåle holds a Master in Industrial
Economics and Management from NTNU in Trondheim, Norway.
Silje Tonning Søgnen has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of GC Rieber
Shipping with effect from 1 March 2023. Søgnen has been with GC Rieber Shipping
since 2021 as Group Financial Controller. Before joining GC Rieber Shipping, she
has relevant experience from various companies within the shipping industry.
Søgnen holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from HVL in Bergen, Norway,
and she is currently taking an Executive Master of Management at
Handelshøyskolen BI, Norway.
Gjert Florvåg has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. Florvåg has 25
years of experience withing naval architect, newbuilding and offshore/ship
operations. Florvåg joined GC Rieber Shipping in 2013 and has since 2019 served
as Vice President Projects. Florvåg worked with Odfjell Drilling before joining
GC Rieber Shipping. Florvåg holds a BEng Honours (Siv.ing) Degree in Naval
Architect and Offshore Engineering from University of Strathclyde.
